Baahubali Characters in Corporate Universe: A hilarious take on Software Industry’s Corporate Politics
As we watch with delight the record-breaking streak of the
movie Baahubali, we are in awe as to why people are gobbling up all the content
this movie is offering. A detailed study of this new phenomenon is required to
understand the enigma of Rajamouli’s directions and why his characters are
appealing to all the sections of society.
Yesterday, I received a WhatsApp message that listed Characters
of Baahubali movie in a corporate environment. I can’t resist but write about
them to spread some humor into our daily corporate lives. So, here are main
characters of Baahubali in a different universe and not in Maahishmati.
Avantika- The HR
Manager
As usually, it goes, a company’s HR manager is the first one
to welcome you and last one to see you off. But the image claims she lures new
recruits and IT developers into Software and IT industry on the backs of
high-offs.
Shiva the Baahubali-
Fresher Employee
He is a clueless fresher who is over enthusiastic to show
off his bookish skills and knowledge. But he has potential to become a good
developer in the future by Trial and Errors (Thanks to Google). He will go to
lengths to be a part of every project and show management that he loves his new
job.
Bhallaldeva- The
above average Developer
This is the guy you should watch out for. He has decent
programming skills but is very jealous of other’s rise and looks to puncture
other’s work. He does not want to work hard but wants to grow by
butter-polishing management, especially team leads and reporting manager. He
gets the best ratings in appraisals due to his close relations with the team
members.
Bijjaldeva- Team
Lead/ Manager
This guy is a workhorse. He will listen to all the sides but
do what he wants. He will often employ politics to get best ratings for his pet
resources even if they don’t deserve it.
Sivagami- Sr. Team
leader/ Sr. Manager
Everyone is afraid to speak in front of her. They know she
is the boss. She is a strong, tough and motivational person on the development
team. She will give outstanding ratings to any employee who can get client appreciations
with their deliverables. She religiously follows bell curve at the time of
appraisals. At times, she will decrease the ratings even when someone deserves
it, just to keep her flock in check.
Kalakeya- The Client
This is the client, everyone fears and tries to please with
latest functionalities and working overtime. He speaks in his own business
language alien to developers and does not give a penny for your
Java/C++/Magento language and functionalities. He will always be at war with
the offshore team to browbeat them but in the end offshore team triumphs in
delivering his project on time.
Katappa- The company
loyalist
He is the person company loves. Will never speak ill about the company and keep quite on most times even at the cost of his and his team-mates personal lives and rights. He is a workhorse who believes in working hard. Many times, resources run away from the company because of unambitious people like him. He is loyal to the chair of his reporting manager and will not switch even if other companies offer him a higher package.
This made my day and compelled me to write this short take
for all of you to read and have a bit of laugh. I must declare that I have no
claim on the content of this blog and I’m simply passing on my take on a
WhatsApp message that I received with the attached images.
Just so you know, if you haven’t watched the Baahubali 2
then you must go and watch it in the theaters only ad not pirate it in any way.
It’s one of the best Indian movies in recent times that have created a buzz and
can be watched with families and kids.
